About Your New Bike
A bicycle seems about as simple it gets, but examining the pieces and parts quickly reveals that there are a lot of them, they all fit together just so and all depend on each other to make anything worthwhile happen.

Your new bike has been carefully set up, tuned and road tested. If it seems anything less than smooth, quiet and precise- call me
.

Break In
During the initial break in period things will go out of adjustment.
The cables will stretch causing the shifters to get sloppy and the brake lever travel to increase. The brake caliper spring tension may change causing the brake pads to not be centered on the rim.

The wheel, crank, headset and pedal bearings will take a ‘set’ and may begin to feel loose. The wheels may go slightly out of true. This is all normal with a new bike, is easily corrected and once done, doesn’t happen again for a long time. If they're not corrected it's likely to cause permenant damage, void the warranty and be expensive to fix.
Rolls Rite bicycles come with free service and tune ups, all you have to do is bring it in and we’ll take care of it.
The first thing to watch for is lack of precise gear shifts. This is easily correctable by the turn of a screw and leads to big trouble if you don’t fix it. If you don’t want to bring it to us, we’ll be glad to tell you how to do it.
Dirt
Your bike’s worst enemy, besides abuse and neglect, is dirt.
Dirt and gunk builds up on the moving parts and makes them hard to turn, slow to move and quick to wear out. All of which makes it hard to pedal, hard to shift, slow to stop and no fun to ride. Keep it clean & dry and store it in a clean & dry place. Call or email and we’ll show you the easy and effective ways to keep it clean.

Tires
Check your tires and keep them inflated to the pressure stamped on the tire. All tires loose air, even brand new ones. A bike tire is so small that even a tiny loss makes a big difference. Riding on too soft tires makes it harder to pedal, harder to steer and much more likely to have a flat and dent the rim.
Be Careful!
People don’t see you, you’re too small and to slow to catch their eye. No matter who’s right or wrong, the dumbest thing you can do on a bike is to not get out of the way of anything bigger than you.
Call or email us anytime you have questions about your bike. We want our to bikes to perform as intended and will do what it takes to make that happen.
